Pega Monstro is the rock duo of sisters Maria (vocals and guitar) and Julia (drums and back vocals), affiliated to Cafetra Records, a label and promoter they helped bring to life that is home to some of the most exciting music made by Lisbon born and bread youngsters, from highly original urban electronica producers to singer songwriter acts.
Their second album entitled “Alfarroba” will come out by early July on the renowned londoner Upset The Rhythm (John Maus, Future Islands, Deerhoof, No Age), following their self-titled 2012 debut that offered a powerful set of songs, in which the melodies slayed, the lyrics conquered and the attitude exuded that wrapped it all together made us feel, righteously so, as we were facing the best rock album ever released in Portugal.
